power cords
Is it possible for a computer to have something wrong with it such that it keep making its power cord nonfunctional? This is the second powercord in about 6 weeks that's stopped working. THe first time I suspected a cat, but I've not seen either messing with wires particularly, and both times it's been only the computer cord that has anything wrong with it. What the heck? Am I just not suopposed to have a computer right now? Argh!!

It's definitely possible. If it happens a third time, .... well then you'll know.
I don't wanna waste money on power cords though... 40 bucks for a test item that may very well get destroyed just sounds silly.
